We have been busy working on a multitude of writing projects. One project was making an electronic book, or ebook, using our iPads. All we need to make a book on our iPad is an App called Book Creator for iPad, and the iPads built in camera and microphone.
We decided to make a book about something we were learning in math, ordinal counting. We chose to use ordinal counting to describe the order in which we did things on a typical day at school. We took pictures using the iPad's camera, and used these pictures to create our book. It was easy for us to add text to each page by simply adding a text box. It was even easy for us to add audio so we recorded ourselves reading each page of the story. That way kids who can't read yet can still enjoy our book.
The first book to come online in the iTunes bookstore is My Day at School, by Quinn Sheridan. All of the books from our class should be available in the next couple days, check back soon!
