Over the past couple weeks we have been participating in a VoiceThread project with a couple other kindergarten classes. The students from these different kindergarten classes have gone around and taken pictures of special places around their respective schools. They have then uploaded these pics to a shared VoiceThread. Each class has commented on the pictures they have uploaded from their school as well as commented on the pictures the other students have added. It's been a very fun and informative project to say the least.
This project was taken to the next level when one of the classes decided to use
Skitch in conjunction with some of the pictures. They were able to use this simple tool as a great way to communicate and ask questions about very specific aspects of a photo. Check it out!

While the actual writing is simple the fact that 5yr olds are using print and images to convey and idea and ask questions is pretty cool! These students are 21st century Pen Pals.
