Wood Study

We have been learning many different and interesting things about wood lately. When we first started discussing wood we decided it would be good to talk about what wood is and where it comes from. We learned that it came from trees and that there are many different types of trees and therefore many different types of wood. We learned that different types of wood can have many different properties such as; different colors and patterns, different hardness, and even different smells. We decided to go on a wood hunt to find different types of wood around our school. We printed off wood labels and set off around the school and tagged all the different things we found made of wood.
