Letter Sounds and Math Fun

Last week we jumped right into learning our letter sounds. We are associating an animal and movement with each letter sound. We are learning a nifty little song that links the letter, sound, and animal all together. Here are a couple pics of the kids in action:

In addition to learning the letter sounds we have been working on our penmanship and letter recognition in a couple different ways. We used our Smart-board, handwriting sheets, and we also used different crafts to construct versions of some letters. Here are some pics of that:

We also did some work on learning about shapes. We talked about trapezoid, rhombus, hexagon, square and triangle. Here are some pictures of us getting hands on with those shapes:
